The series was a commendable take on the economic situation of the country, portrayed at a household level. Its episodes mostly dealt with the regular daily struggles of the lower and middle class families of India, who were under pressure to run a respectable life in a harsh social, economic, and political scenario. It was loved by everybody owing to its humorous take on complex and sensitive issues by its carefully created characters.

The main characters were an electrician, a bicycle repairer, a restaurant manager, a maid, an unemployed man, and a beggar. The show chronicles their day-to-day conversations at the street corner (‘Nukkad’ in Hindi) in which household problems and sensational issues of the country are showcased and discussed in a satirical and light-hearted manner. The show was widely viewed and went on to become a cult classic of the 1980s.

Nukkad: The Superhit Comedy TV Serial (1986), released by Shemaroo Home Entertainment, is available in DVD format as a 13-disc set with English subtitles. The compilation has been rated U (Universal), and runs to over 2640 minutes.

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.
