The Dirty Picture 2011 movie is loosely based on the true story of the famous south Indian movie star Silk Smita, who was famous for her erotic roles in the movies, and the ups and downs faced by her throughout her career and overall life. Set in the late 1980s, the Dirty Picture Hindi movie DVD movie starts with Reshma (Vidya Balan) running away from her home prior to the day of her weeding to become fulfil her dream of becoming an actress. This movie has detailed narration of incidences in Silk's life from the point of view of Abraham – her first director, and later her love interest. It walks the audience through the life of Reshma, her struggles and her ways of thinking, which were and still are controversial to most.

In the Dirty Picture Hindi movie, we see that Reshma is initially not accepted by the industry and is insulted by a casting director for being useless and ugly. Her first break was as a side dancer, wherein she had to whip herself erotically while dancing; the director initially cut her performance but the film failed badly. Selva Ganesh, the producer of the movie, notices her (then known as Reshma) in the song and offers her another song in his upcoming movie. The crowd is impressed with her and Silva Ganesh suggests that Reshma should refer herself as Silk henceforth. Silk becomes an overnight sensation and goes on to sizzle the screen with the aging superstar Surkyakant. Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.
